Would you watch a reality show in which people were offered money to perform tasks that might leave them severely maimed or dead? Would you participate in such a show?

Would you watch a reality show in which people were offered money to perform tasks that might leave them severely maimed...

How many Americans would pay, via pay-per-view, to watch a death row inmate killed? I suspect the TV network would have to charge much less per execution for a criminal who was put to death merely by lethal injection (not very exciting, little gore, no apparent suffering, just looks like he's sleeping), as opposed by those convicts who are exterminated by the electric chair or by firing squad (particularly if there is a chance that there could be a screw up or two, and a second attempt needed. Plenty of suffering, person's head bursting into flames, etc).
Personally, things that cater to a severe prurient interest have no place in a "normal" person's entertainment. Not mine, anyhow.

I disagree with you; I think that (albeit this is an extreme example), this sort of entertainment is just the thing that a 'normal' loves to watch...especially in secret.

Inquiring i: My question runs a bit tangent to the topic but are you and TonyA the Abbott and Costello of TBD?
You seem to be doing the setup and he rushes in with the punchline.
Just asking

You se...

No. We are strangers. I do like TonyA's attitude; I like how he uses extremes to illustrate his point; When answering a question which he feels is silly or irrelevant, I how he is likely to make a joke of it, rather than attack the questioner. Frankly, TonyA is one of the more insightful and intelligent people I've had the pleasure of meeting. But, no, there is no connection whatsoever.

I have a life of my own and prefer not to watch any of the reality shows. If people are stupid enough to participate in that kind of show I guess they get what they deserve. Common sense is not always common amongst the human population.

It may not be the best example of common sense, but the networks will all tell you: it makes money.

close to getting hurt as I care to come! JLW
