It seems the latest trend in second home buying is combining a vacation with a house hunt. Many developers are offering low (or no) cost stays at their some of their luxury communities that are just too good to pass up.

This offers the potential second home buyer an opportunity to check out the community, enjoy the local cuisine, and look into some of the recreational opportunities the area has to offer.

Here in the Colorado Mountains, several developers are offering these packages. These escapes are great to get in a round of golf, go fly fishing, mountain biking, etc. and still do some serious reconnaissance work for a second home.

As part of the deal, you might have to sit still for 45 minutes to listen to a marketing presentation where you are staying but it’s still a great opportunity. And you can’t beat the price.
