I can't believe that it's a holiday and no one is throwing a party?
Did anyone even notice that it's Earth day?
There's a little survey on the home page asking what you're doing to celebrate Earth day. It has four answers to choose from. They are very reasonable, sensible answers and none of them reflects the nature of us TBD'ers. (Okay, there's one about drinking a toast to Earth day...I can see some of you doing that.)
Really, what have you done today? Please tell us and explain how this action is in someway benefiting the Earth. I'll light the candles, sing "We are the world" and get all of that stuff out of the way so that you can come to my Earth day party and tell us about how you really benefited the world today.
I skipped doing laundry (saved energy, water and didn't add detergents to our nearby watersheds), I canceled my plans for cleaning out some of the 'original packaging' boxes that had collected in the spare room, thus avoiding having to kill any bugs I might find, with toxins and releasing chlorofluorocarbons into the atmosphere, and I laid around a lot, thereby conserving even more energy!
I feel satisfied and am proud of myself.
How have you done your part today?
Pour yourself a glass of wine and tell me about it.
