To me age should not put a boundary on a friendship. You seem to be able to express yourself quite well and in my honest opinion, you show a maturity beyond your years. Honestly I have shoes older than you but if you just want someone to talk to, I'm here for you.

I am a terror if you really knew me though...

I word things differently when I actually speak. I was not taught to act or speak a certain way; but I taught myself to be literate through reading and refusing to conform with the hooligans and hoodlums in my schools.

When I say things in person I don't give myself time to think I just say it exactly how it is worded in my mind. When I am sitting here and typing the words flow smoothly and are picked more carefully.

Ren (if I may call you that),

I think we're all age-tolerant here...even to you youngins. There are a lot of good souls on here ( I won't include myself...I let people make their own judgements) that are good people to know.

Even though I'm no formal welcoming committee, feel free to kick around and get to know everyone. Find some groups you like a post away; there's no need to feel awkward here.

Thank you Jim. I am feeling a bit more comfortable around here as I see that people are friendly than I ahd originally thought.

I had posted a discussion right after I joined that seemed to pick up some hostile feedback; but it wasn't too hostile at all.

Just people wiser and older than me trying to warn me about the hardships I may have to face with the decisions that I make.

Welcome to TBD Renaissance ! Every well mannered person is welcome here ! You seem to fit in just fine. Age IS a matter of mind. I don't think any of us consider ourselves 'old'. Age does bring experience though, so if we can help you avoid any of lifes ugly pitfalls, you have but to ask. Have fun Hon.

Now I seem to doubt the terror aspect. I have 2 children of my own and in a sense inherited 2 others so I don't scare easily but nice try. (LOL)

I applaud your decision to steer clear of your peers in school that might have had a tendency to lead you down the wrong path. As for being self taught, you've done a fantastic job on that. I also find reading not only educational but relaxing as well. For me it's kind of like a non-addictive sleeping pill since I do most of my reading in the evenings. It's a great opportunity to learn about all sorts of people, places and things as well.

I seem to pick my words more carefully when they are written too but even then I still sometimes manage to end up with my foot in mouth. With me I think it's just a knack I possess.
