This place is divided up into various neighborhoods, if you will, called Discussion Groups. These groups have various various discussions in them, hopefully about various sub-topics. If you see a discussion that interests you, click on it and you will be brought to the first page. You can page through the discussion. At any point, you can chime in by hitting the submit button (You may be asked to join the group but that's easy). Then, hit the quote button (so folks know what you are referring to) and type away.

You can search for discussions eith in the Search window or in the lower right (where it says "See the latest discussions" or some such). There are a wide variety of topics here and thje conversations rain from the serious to outright banter.

I too am new here and feel like I'm swimming in an ocean...lol...however, I am choosing groups that I feel could benefit me, and where I could make some new friends.

You needn't join every group in order to read what is in them Mysti.

I did what you did when I started then realised that I can "leave a group" and only join the group if and when I want to make a comment.

For example, on some of the groups, I join just to make one comment, I make the comment, then leave the group!

You can start a discussion too without belonging to any group!
