"Eternal Security can be defined as the believer's unbreakable relationship with the integrity of God. It remains unbreakable because of who and what God is, not who and what we are. It is what God does for us in salvation that makes this relationship permanent. Salvation is a gift of God and at the moment of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, God gave us at least forty grace gifts that are irrevocable. he cannot and will not ever take these gifts away, Romans 11:29. We cannot negate them; no other creature can negate them; even God Himself cannot negate them, Romans 8:38-39. We are kept and guarded by the power of God, I Peter 1:5." Eternal Security by Robert M. McLaughlin (2003)
So, are any of you struggling with this issue? Are you living your day-to-day life with the fear that you are one sin away from Hell? Do you think one has to work their way to Heaven? Does it bother you greatly that a person can become a believer one day, then begin "living in sin", destroying their life to the utmost, fail miserably, and even live worse than an unbeliever, and STILL go to Heaven? Were you "once a Christian", but have since become an "atheist" or "agnostic"? What is the "unpardonable sin?"
Let's talk about these issues and see if we can "reason together" as they say. All Bible references from me will be from the New American Standard Bible unless otherwise stated.
