Homicide was a Peabody and Emmy award winning show. The earlier seasons were the best, in my opinion, but the other seasons were still better than anything else that was on the networks at that time. There was no middle ground with this show, you probably either loved it or hated it. All that I know is I became addicted to it.
The actors are sensational, Richard Belzer, Clark Johnson, Reed Diamond, Callie Thorne and Yaphett Kotto (to name a few) are incredible. Andre Braugher was perfect in his roll as Det. Frank Pembleton, but I always felt that Kyle Secor was the true center of the show.
One of the classic episodes was "Three Men and Adena" from the first (or possibly second) season. I distinctly remember watching Siskel & Ebert discuss this show (A TV show, something they rarely did) and both gave it glowing revues. I checked it out and was hooked from then on. I still watch the reruns on cable. Just wondering if anyone else have fond memories of this classic show.
