I'm still trying to figure that one out Mischief...that coming from someone that outside of an internet game and work have not really had contact outside of home...that I'm trying to change but it's slow going so we'll see!

Well I know I am going to be an odd ball here but the best place for me ahas been busy public driving ranges. iwalk up to a person having trouble with their game help them, ask them if they want to play when they are done practicing and wha la a friend for life, I really enjoy poeple and the outdoors. G somewhere where you have a common interest with someone.

Great idea but tough to do...my interests tend to (a lot of times) be male dominated, or indoors. The first one, they think it's a pick-up, the second...I'm by myself. I'll keep trying though!

Let me know if you find out. I have recently joined TBD, just moved to a new area and I'm really trying to get out and meet people. I've joined a gym, got a personal trainer, take my dog on long walks, joined WeightWatchers, and really don't know what to do. I don't do the bar scene at all.

I'll be moving to a new area...no neighbors around, everyone works. I go for long walks and meet lots of older couples (I'm talking 80's). For now TBD is it...I'm not as pathetic as I sound...or am I (sniff)?

Why not make that "every place" with you, wherever you go? It's a bit expensive, but it works...

By a nice camera... not one of the point and shoot models, preferrably something like a digital SLR with a few lenses and then just go walking. Don't take pictures of people. Take pictures of things. You can make any sort of comment you'd care to, if anyone is around, while you're composing the shot. You can ask for advice, make a comment about the scene, ask for help in setting it up, any number of things. It's really cool when you're out in say.... the deserts of Arizona... waaaaaay out there and you don't think anyone else is around, and all of the sudden, you happen upon another camera nut. I mean... it's almost sacriligious not to say anything to the person. Ask them if they got any good shots, if there's any good scenes around. It's basically a non-committed way of starting a talk with anyone. You can do it in town, out of town, just walking down the street. I guess what I'm saying is let your camera do the talking for you. Hide behind it.

Well... at least it works for me.
