Wanted to point y'all to the Encore Career Community College Program, a network of 10 community colleges who are piloting a variety of approaches to help boomers transition to encore careers in education, health care and public service. Many colleges and universities offer free courses online in the form of podcasts, lectures, tutorials and full-blown online classes. Most of these courses, while extremely smart-making, will NOT award any college credits or degrees.
