I have been back in college for a couple of years now and have noticed something worthy of mention here I think, and that is that college today is not what it used to be (and neither am I!).
It appears to me that the Associates level courses are today largely serving the function of what our high school classes used to do. It doesn't end there as the ripple effect of that seems to be that Bachelors level offerings seem to be at a level where 2 year colleges used to teach, and so on up the line.
Why is this? Has our primary school education dropped the ball to such a degree that today's colleges have to pick up the slack and meet the students where they are at educationally?
I'd be interested to hear if any of the other returning students have noticed this trend in their institutions of higher learning.
