I give you a lot of credit for wanting to continue your education after 30 years! At least you know that with your diagnosis of MS that patient care may soon be impossible and a BS will definitely be helpful in obtaining administrative positions. I'm not sure what state you're in, but I know that sometimes in Michigan with 30 years as an RN, you'd definitely have a great chance just based on your years that you already have in the field. I can't tell you about funding, but I would suggest that you speak with an advisor and the financial aid department of the university that you plan on attending well before you plan on enrolling. Congrats on your decision to go back to school! Scary, yes, but my sister did it at about the same place you are now in your life, too and she's now a professor at a local university. The first step you need to take is filling out the FAFSA. For that, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov This federal form will tell you what you are eligable for for governmental financial aid. At the end of the form, you'll put what schools you want the form sent to. Once the colleges of your choice recieve the form, they then can offer you their own financial aid packages once you apply. You can do all of this online, or if you prefer, you can print and mail it. Also, go to www.fastweb.com This site has all the scholarships and grants that are out there and will tell you if you have what they are looking for to apply.
