It was December 1999. I was driving to work and passed Wilmington College in New Castle DE. I had always wanted to go back and finish something that I started so I stopped to just pick up information knowing damn good and well I would never follow through.
Well.....I walked out enrolled and had applied for financial aid. 2 Years later I walked across the stage Magna Cum Laude....I had a 3.87gpa. When I had gone to school before I carried about a 1.75. Yeah, I partied too much.
My biggest regret is that my Dad passes away 5 months before graduation. Although I know he was there with me and my family it was still hard. See, my Dad only went to school up to the fourth grade when he had to quit and pick cotton to help the family survive.
Well two years later I went back again for my masters! In 2006 I graduated with a MEd in Elementary studies and I now teach.
