my friend is 50 something and is going for a degree in psychology at the moment and I'm her guinea pig for essay assignments.

There was a lady who was 95 a few years back on the Letterman show, whe had just finished college. I say, you are never too old to learn! :) hope it helps!

I think that employers and/or recruiters would be impressed by the fact that you're 44 and willing to go back to college for a second degree. Besides, 44... 46...60.... is not old! I say go for it. I currently attend university and there are a handful of adult learners in all of my classes. As marie mentioned, you're never too old to learn! If anything, it'll be a great experience. Good luck!

It is NEVER too late for education! I am a 49 year old second semester freshman and it is wonderful to be back in the learning environment.

I am almost 43 and currently a Junior attending a university in Oklahoma. My only regret about college is that I wish that I would have went back earlier, but I enjoy learning and feel that once you get into a routine of studying, and setting aside time to study, then it will become something that you will get used to. I plan to teach 6th grade geography when I finish with my degree, and I will be 45. I think you should do it. Are you going to keep your current job and go to school part-time?

I do not think your age would hurt you at all. I work for a large corporation and we are all encouraged to continue learning. I am 47 I completed another degree 4 years ago. My company paid for my education. I was awarded stock for completing my degree and two years later I go a new job within the company with a "NICE" pay raise!! Need I write anymore??

I think your motivation and your objectives are admirable! It is never to late to grow and to learn, and anyone who might discriminate against adults who advance themselves this way does not deserve the time of day, from you or anyone else.

I am a professor (human development; writing; education) who has worked successfully with adult learners for many years. The accomplishments of many adult learners is inspiring.
