As far as I'm concerned, you're never too old. I went back to school in 2003 at age 52, and I've been in school ever since.

It's easier now than it was in 1969-1970. I don't know if the courses are easier, or if technology has made it easier, or whether just being more mature has made it easier. Whatever -- it's been great fun!

I went back to school at 49, too. To my surprise, many of the people in my classes were "second career" people.

I loved it, and I worked harder than I ever did for my BA thirty years ago. Go for it!

Ellen - I retired in May 2003, so I'm no longer working. It was one of those "right place, right time" deals. So I was able to return to school full-time as a music major -- no night classes.

As a professional in higher education, I know that education is a life-long pursuit. It is never too late! College isn't what it used to be and there is something for everyone in the U.S. The good news is that there are so many options out there.

I know Iam lucky.Iam 61 yrs.old and I will be going back to school for auto mechanics in April.And since Iam a senior citizen here in Texas I can take any courses for free,all I have to buy is supplies.

I was in my early 40s when I changed careers from business management to work in hospice.And that was my calling.

If I hadnt become disabled Iam sure I would still be working in hospice.

Dont ever think you are to old to do anything your heart desires!
