Have you thought about teaching at a different level? You could try teaching at a junior college. You do not need all of the degrees a university professor needs, and you could teach a specialized subject you are more interested in (as opposed to the general education). And the students would be more interested in learning and easier to deal with at a higher education level.

Well, I've always loved kids and still feel a connection there. I like teaching and seeing the proverbial "light bulb" come on when a child understands a new concept. I have a college degree so that's a good thing. I may just need to teach in another school, I'm in a tough neighborhood, but I am seriously considering alternatives.

I've been teaching since '91 and have decided to get a librarian certification. My two librarian friends have really encouraged me in this direction. They love their jobs. At my school it doesn't pay any more, but the stress level is better. For me, this involves getting a masters. I believe it will be worth it. My principal also suggested to look into speech therapy. This does pay more.

Perhaps you could open a business that sells green products or sell them on e bay?

Having been in Speech years ago, I've noticed that some slps get 100 an hour
