What makes TBD special? Hmmm, for me it's the fact that it's comfortable here; I appreciate communicating with those who are 'close' to my same age.

It's one of the few sites where happily married individuals can have a few laughs, make a few friends, and discuss widely varied topics.

I've received recommendations for Netflix movies, books, workout tunes, make-up to use over new scars, and recipes to serve company. I've laughed until I cried at some of the jokes. I've found I have a lot in common with some members. I've met quite a few genuine, giving individuals.

The bad thing? Like you, here I am when I should be typing up a new contract, vacuuming the dog hair...

Since you asked the question WW, it's people like Azure Calm who make TBD special - but she's just one of a fantastic bunch of people from all walks of life and have varied interests.

Some are more interesting than others, but you'll quickly figure that out.

If having been on social networks for 3 years qualifies me as an expert, I can tell you many things about TBD that already make it worthwhile for me, and I've only been around a few weeks:

1. It is far and away more adult than either MySpace or Facebook. In fact, because it appears to be trouble-free by comparison, I am in the process of shutting down both my MySpace and Facebook accounts. They don't play stupid children's games here, and I appreciate that more than I think they will ever know.

2. Excellent people - HUMANS, in fact. So far, I've met Britscot, TonyA, AZure-CAlm, LQ, Jo, michael crabb, VAriverboy, Janus...and more, and out of just the last couple of days I've felt more in tune with this group of people than with people of the same age group on any of the following: MySpace, Facebook, netlog, and Eons. (Yes, I said even Eons.)

3. The comfortability of this site is akin to walking down to the neighbourhood coffee shop and sitting down and having a chat.

4. I'm an Aspie. Few seem to really worry about that, and I don't mind telling you, that matter to me ALOT.

So that's what a veteran social networker, but not a veteran at TBD, has to say. (I have more, but they'll cut me off eventually.)
