Does TBD have any plans to add blogging? I've always thought it's one of the best ways for people to make connections. Some of the most fascinating stuff on the internet is in blogs.

Welcome, unusualsuspect. It's fair to say that TBD will add the features our members want. The numbers on blogging among people over 40 are not compelling, but our members are an unusually good set of writers and online communicators, so if the demand is there, we will be too.

Most of the bloggers I read are over forty, many of them well over, but they aren't on sites like Myspace, Xanga, etc. Stats for the most popular blogging sites are easy to come by and are used ad infinitum as proof of this or that, but are useless for understanding what older net denizens are doing.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Suspect, there is a great blogging site for adults of every age at eBlogger. You can communicate among bloggers. It is a serious blog, often for writing and essays as well as comments, not a meet market. Its purpose is intellectual communication and less serious issues not a place to deal with personal relationships.
There are many writing sites, many poetry sites and many political blogs but few places that meet the social needs of the mature adult.

Milt, I already have two blogs and don't really need another one, but having one here as part of the extended discussions would be nice.
I took a look at eBlogger. I'd consider it except for the price. SquareSpace hosts websites, which can include a blog, for a little less.
I agree that there are few good places for mature adults. I'm looking more for intellectual exchange than regular socializing, and so far, TBD seems to have the greatest potential. Most sites for the older age bracket seem to think that everyone needs huge print, very simple-to-use features, and plenty of ads for medication and mobility aids.
I'm actually doing research on sites for seniors, so I've been signing on to a lot of them and making comparisons. If TBD had blogging, it would be near-perfect.

Blog-smog....a discussion gives the reader information (hopefully) and a more informed person should be a better communicator.
