I have spent little time on your island of Oahu, but loads of time on Maui and quite a bit on the big island. I now stay on Maui 6 to 8 weeks a year in a wonderful timeshare.
What does Hawaii mean to me?
Hawaii means: continuous wonder, peace, heaven, contentment, fresh fish, smiles I can't shove away,history, beauty.
People often ask us if we will eventually move there, but I have to say no due to traffic, cost of living, and the fact that in spite of doing okay, we could in no way shape or form afford property even remotely close to the ocean. But, with every year I age I tend to look at everything in new perspectives.

Good question...Part of my roots go back to Hawaii: where my great grandfather immigrated from Canton, China, where my grandfather was born, where my father was born, where my brother was born...(Unfortunately, I was born on Guam.)
Hawaii is where a lot of well known martial artists, who created their own styles, are from: Ed Parker Sr., Adriano Emperado, Wally Jay, Ralph Castro, including my instructor's (Bill Chun Jr.)teachers: William K.S. Chow and William Q.C. Chun Sr.
Aloha Joe! Welcome...and wow do I envy you! I visited Hawaii 3 years ago (my first and only time) and would love to live there. It was beautiful and the people were so layed back, kind, and fun!
Hi there, I am due to visit Hawaii for a work conference in January, any recommendations on what to do while there? I reckon I will take some time out and spend a couple of weeks afterwards on vacation

Hey Trader Joe, I'm on the Big Island, in Kona. I love it here, wouldn't want to be any other place. I grew up in snow and cold and so appreciate it being 80 degrees all year around. Good post brah!
