I grew up in a family of 9 kid and my mother and grandmother made a special effort to make Sunday a day where the whole family spent quality time with eachother and no one has work or school to think about until Monday. I still try to do that with my own children but as they grow older and their schedules get more complicated, it becomes more and more difficult. I think that's why we cherish the holidays together so much.

In my family ,it was my Grandmother who did the Sunday family dinners. After she became to blind (at 90 yrs.) to attempt to cook anymore,my Aunts took over the meal at granny's home. After she passed away the tradition just sort of passed with her. It was fun while we had it!

My father had 9 brothers and sisters> Almost everys Sunday the family would congregate at one home or another for dinner. After dinner us cousins would play until dark and the folks would sit on the porch, or under a tree, and talk and solve the worlds problems. Those were happy days.
