Hi, my name is Marc. I live and work in NYC. I work as a Computer Systems Analyst. My favorite hobby/interest is Music. I like all kinds of Rock - classic, alternative, punk, grunge (yes, I am 40+), R&B, some country, etc. My current favorite CD's released in 2008 are:

1. "Rockferry" by Duffy

2. "Flavors of Entanglement" by Alanis Morissette

3. "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay

Generally I like to listen to new music either by established artists (like REM, Robert Plant) or newer artists (John Mayer, Fiona Apple, Linkin Park, etc.)

Would like to hear from people out there and hear about what's in "heavy rotation" on your turntable, iPod, etc.)

Please let me know...

I lost just about everything I owned in a move gone bad, but right now I'm listening to a lot of Low Pop Suicide, Yes, and Killswitch Engage.

Welcome here from northern nh. Their is so much to do here. We have members that live all over ny state and I think we have some in the city.

We are very friendly and nice members to. Our groups go all over. From Music to cooking and to traveling..

Well I can't say I listen to much of the newer music (read as rap) but I do have a very eclectic mix of music that I like from country to heavy metal rock and roll. Depends on my mood and what fits my emotions at the time.

MrEntropy -- Are you talking about early YES ("Roundabout") or middle-period YES ("Owner of a Lonely Heart") or more recent material?

Carol Ray -- Just to be clear I am not talking about rap when I say "new music." I am not a fan of rap. New Music to me includes Folk and Rock artists that have emerged in the 21st century (e.g., Damien Rice, John Mayer, Linkin Park, Evanescence, etc.).

Now you are talking up my road...my son got me hooked on Linkin Park and Evanescence...I love there music along with the stuff I grew up with.
