I am grumpy as I start my work week.

I hit a piece of broken concrete on the way home from work on Friday. I made it home but heard an ominous hhhiiiiisssssss as I got out of the car. Yup! Flat front right tire.

OK, get out the space saver spare. Oh, can't get the spare cover up in the trunk. bolt is rusted. Hammer time. Ok cover is off, 20 minutes with penetrating oil, wrench, hammer, pliers, and a hacksaw and I have the spare and jack out.

Pump up the flat spare - no I have never had to use it in the 13 years I had this car.

jack up the car. Custom wheels, can't get the lug nut cover off. Phillips screw was put on with a impact wrench at the garage.

"Hello, AAA!"

Even the mechanic AAA sent could not get the cover off with his tools.

Got him my drill, bits, and extension cord so he could drill it out.

He finished changing the tire.

I should have taken that as a sign and stayed in bed the rest of the weekend.

Poor Sack.

The same exact thing happened to me this mornining. Darn those impact wrenches! And that messed-up pavement...what can I say? We should write letters!

Okay, so I'm still in my p.j,'s and I've only just fed the pets and have now started my second cup of coffee, but I know that misery loves company...so I'm trying to sympathize.

(I did cut my finger on the cat food can...if that makes you feel any better.)
