sore throat from allergies. tea helps. (tea helps everything! tea with rum in it helps even more!)

I am a tea drinker. Never learned to like coffee. Tea does help everything and a little rum never hurts. Hope you feel better soon.

LOL, mal du jour, love it. Not many aches and pains, but got a lovely rosecea flare up going. Thank goodness I didn't have this or acne as a kid...it's hard enough as an adult. I wonder if Pru has a hat with hanging netting to cover the face.

this thread, is perhaps a much better way, with a lighter perspective, for those of us who post of chronic pain or depression, etc. but don't really feel relief from our own grumpiness related to it all. and of course for those who just feel crappy some days physically.

yes, there are days when feeling like i'm in hell is not particularly funny, i am striving hard to keep fighting by finding the absurdity of it all with humor. this discovery, for me, has been good and i need to keep it up.

today, is not a particularly painful day, which is always nice and appreciated, but i am very tired from very poor sleep for days now. i am anxious, which doesn't help certainly. and i'm having some "brain cloud" symptoms this late afternoon that i could do without!

Mockingbird, your mal du jour is "brain cloud" does that mean trouble thinking? Can you describe it for me?

my particular brain cloud syndrome began with peri-menopause, or so my doctors thought. and they may have been partially correct but it was minor in this area.

my "brain cloud" is apparently a combination of a number of things that are still being evaluated and discovered.

it began with neurological and cognitive deficits which have been caused by serious cervical spinal degeneration and spinal stenosis. The exact "how does this all happen this way" is unknown to all of my doctors including my neurosurgeons and other neuro specialists. they just don't know. the closest we can come to an answer is that the trauma done to my neck and head over my life time has caused what may be irreparable damage to nerves which go from c-1 up into the brain stem.

it is now thought that some of the symptoms that i have been having for the past 3+ years is also do to some cardiology problem as yet to be specifically diagnosed but believed to be a problem with blood circulation throughout my body and brain as well as a problem regulating blood pressure.

symptoms include shaking, poor short term memory, poor word recall, vertigo, a mild form of aphasia during "events", physical and mental disassociation, inability to concentrate or understand things completely during "events", migraine headaches, mixed headaches, breathing issues and heart palpitations, falling, extraordinary weakness without warning, exacerbation of a sleep disorder already present, etc.

parts of this and that can add up for me to be a "brain cloud". they are to a great degree individual in nature.

it is a non-medical term from a tom hanks movie "joe versus the volcano". bad frog also has 'brain clouds" but i have never asked him to describe his to me before.
