Bing-freakin'-o! Correct spelling and punctuation, plus coherent writing aren't important to some people. (Then why the hell are they writing posts on a message board?!)

I've got no problem with non-native English speakers, the poorly educated, the learning disabled or otherwise impaired people; their difficulty in communicating clearly isn't their fault.

Honey, you sure as shootin' got THAT right! It beats me that people over 40 would choose to sound like idiots. Even an old country gal like me can come up with a coherent English sentence.

Some of the "writing" is so breathtakingly bad, it's painful. Everyone makes typos; I am at least as guilty as anyone. But it's difficult to take some of this stuff serously when you can't make heads or tails out of what the poster is attempting to convey.

I have posted about this before; the consensus at the time was that we "should" concentrate on the message, not the medium. Still, it's hard to tell what the message is when it is written in gibberish.

Amen, ND. A little effort from the writer goes a long way for the readers.

It's been a while since I was on this writing rant, but I'm back. Today it's not about lack of punctuation and poor spelling. It's about nonsensical bull-pucky (I couldn't think of a non-nonsensical word for it).

I just could not, COULD NOT believe that after reading a very, very, very long discussion that I came to the end and thought "WTF?" I don't think I'm ADD, but I sure feel as though I am after reading that post. Then I reread it and same result. I almost went for a third time when the quote about insanity came to mind. You know, the one about insanity is when you keep repeating the same thing expecting a different outcome. Well, I gave up and came here to rant.

I'm sticking with the haikus...short, sweet, and who cares 'cuz they are only 17 syllables long. A beautiful thing.

If you can't stand the spelling don't read it. Some people had to quit school to work or reasons we know nothing about. If these people want to join in discussions to learn I feel if they stick with it they will improve not only their spelling but their minds. Give them fair chance.
