If asked I would say that no one is ever going to sell your artwork like you do, not a gallery or a site I think after doing it for six years that an art fair or juried art show is the best way to sell your stuff. People want to be connected to us through our art. If they meet us and buy they take that experience home and have a story to tell later. Say what you want about the validity of galleries and their prestige but for me a common artist with very little name recognition, this is the only way to sell.

well i was asking specifically about Artist Rising. I think we need to keep in mind the world is changing and the internet is a driving force in all areas of that change, Your exposure to the world travels much faster via the information highway then any other source. Although I think selling your own artwork is essential I also think limiting your work to galleries and art fairs is a bit antiquated. This new generation communicates better via computer and modern tech then they do verbal one on one. Think about it, IM, internet, social networks like facebook, MySpace, text message, cell phone. We have to keep up with the jones'

No I am not familiar with Artist Rising or Etsy. I use Saatchi Gallery online. Your right, your exposure to the world does travel much faster via the information highway. The world is becoming quite a little salon.

I have never sold anything on Etsy, but received many comments (ubercounselor.etsy.com)
