Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Besides me? Hahahaha,...

Well for wildlife artists it would have to be Ed Aldritch first and foremost. His artwork is amazing in it's detail. Since I like photo-realistic artists and artwork best, he really does stand out. Robert Bateman is not too shabby either.

For Fantasy Art the living Master in oil is still Boris! This man knows oil like few people alive today do. In the same category in acrylic paint it would be Michael Whelan. ( Whelan adds the fun of painting his signature into the background or features of a painting so that you have to study and hunt to find it. )

For Tattoo artists Tom Renshaw is absolutely fantastic and his portraits and animals look like photographs on the skin.

Of all the classical artists I remain a devout fan of Michael Angelo, for his amazing sculptures especially.

But my all time favorite remains Erik Brush ( shameless self promotion! Sorry,... hehehe,... nahhhhhh,.... I had to do it. ) His pyrographic art and colour pencil work are eye grabbing, and he is diverse, whether it's airbrushing, jewelry, etc. ( Hey you have to like your work before you can expect others to enjoy it.) I am never fully satisfied with any project, but I do like what I make. I am always trying learn more.

Now to get away from the little self plug, there are truely a great variety of artists out there in so many different specialties that it is always hard to pick just one. Plus I am always learning new things from other artists, and the inspiration and wonder they fill me with is something that I will be grateful to every artist that I enjoy for allowing me to experience! OOO I love kiefer too. He had an excellent show here in the early 90's and it really left an impression on me. I forgot about him. Thanks!

Erik, is that your real name?

Yes it is. On my mother's side ( Danish ) the family is either Pedersen or Houlby, but my stepfather is American and his last name is Brush. I never thought much about it. Had teachers who used to like to make references to the "Fuller Brush" man, ( apparently a door-to-door Hairbrush sales company from the 60's etc.) But after I began painting and doing artwork, suddenly everyone who I met started asking me if that was my real or assumed name. Hahaha,...

I always joked about naming my kids Scrub or Tooth, or Dog or maybe Paint. But yes it's my real name.

Did a name trace once and apparently it's Olde English for "He who dwells by the Thicket".

Oh yeah, if that was in reference to my first name ( I had to go there,... ) yes I am indeed Erik with a "K". This is the original Scandinavian spelling. With a "C" is Old English and though a more popular spelling in the US, it is actually a later spelling. The name was brought to the Brittish Isles during the Viking era and after the cultures became infused the name became popular there.
