I like your "Pacific Northwest" idea--and you'll find a lot of us who are in that region. I live just outside of Boise, Idaho on a 160 farm with my husband. We are "empty nesters" even though our youngest son and his wife live on the farm and I have two other children and their families within 5 miles or less. In our house it is just the two of us and it is kind of strange after all these years. I am a full-time student at Boise State after 31 years away from school and it is fantastic to be making my brain stretch a bit again--not always comfortable or easy but good.

I've been to Salem, Oregon once, grew up in Northern California (Santa Rosa), spent some time in Eastern Washington when my mother lived there, and I've been living in Idaho since 1976--all but the first 18 years of my life. Tied to the dairy until we sold the milking herd 8 years ago, we haven't traveled much.

Hi! I'm from the Rose City, too. And am an empty nester. My kids live all over the world. One is is AZ at a large university, the 2 sons out of the country.

Sounds as though you are at a nervous transitional point in your life. A new you will slowly blossom!

I live in Lewiston, ID. It's right on the Washington-Idaho border. I've grew up on a farm about 60 miles south of here and moved here 28 years ago.

I've been married for 26 years. We have two kids who live in Boise, we are empty nesters.

TBD seems to always have such interesting topics and fun people, but the more you get into this site, you read about some people who have huge struggles in life.

To help you cope with your grief, TBD'ers can provide comfort and support. To help you transcend your fears around forging a new life for yourself, many many TBD'ers have been there and can share what they're learned. And as for feeling excited about the new chapter that opening for you, many TBD'ers are interested in friendship and more. I suggest that you browse the discussions and when you feel the urge, jump in.

I am also new to the site; I live between Lewiston and Moscow Idaho. And I will NOT winter here again, please and thank you. I need to find a warmer climate to induce calmer mental weather.

Have 1 son who lives in Bellevue, Wa. and 3 of 4 brothers that live near here.
