I don't live up there but I visited this past October and loved it. I have a daughter and grands at Ft. Lewis. She is getting ready to be a single mom, in the army, and may be deployed soon. The deployment sucks.
But back on track, my wife and I loved the area. We were taken to several of the really pretty places around Puget Sound and went to Lakewood, Seatle, Tacoma. My daughter is moving to Tumwater in a few weeks.

Yes, moved here in 1992 just to try it for a short time. 16 years later I can't imagine living anywhere else. I love it here too.

I spent eight years at nas whidbey is. i live in minneapolis now. i just drove back from a wedding in everett, i havent been back in 13 years. I didnt realize how much i missed it there! I so didnt want to leave! I live in minnesota, but my heart is in washingtion!

hi, i'm from oregon and i want to get to know more ppl from the PNW. i also would like your opinion on something, i'd post it here but i don't think this would be an appropriate venue, not till i get more feedback. if anyone wants to discuss my idea, feel free to let me know. your opinion counts.

Hey There!
Great to meet you! We live in Beaverton, and suburb of Portland, Oregon now. But in an earlier incarnation (previous marriage, lol!) I lived in Tacoma a couple of times. My X husband was in the army and we were stationed at Ft. Lewis a couple of times. Know Lakewood well.
On a similar note, my son is in the Army Reserves and we have had to worry about the possibility of him being deployed, too, so I know what you are feeling about the concern over her possible deployment. I was an active duty army wife for 10 years...so, been there, done that. If you need someone to talk to who understands...I'm here.
I am a native Oregonian but have lived all over the place. LOVE the Pacific Northwest and Portland in particular! What can I say? This is the best place on earth!
