I have had some success with recording audio in cemetarys or historic sites. You will sometimes hear faint voices in the background when you play back the recording at high volume.

Of course there are many "explanations" from those who believe in only the tangible material world. But, it was an interesting experience for me all the same.

carolann1307, It is not the midwest but I visited the Stanley Hotel. If you ever get the chance you need to go. It is by Estes Park in Colorado. Kind of weird. Especially down the hallway by the hotel rooms. The billiard room is also intriguing.

Have you ever felt a cool breeze brush by you on a day that is about 95 degrees? I have and the only explanation is a ghost. I am always ready to expereince that. I keep an open mind as to whether or not they are bad or good. You just know when it happens if you should be frightened or just accepting. They will let you know who they are if they do not want to scare you.

I have had light switches flip on and off in my old house years ago. My children were there and witnessed this. I just told them not to be afraid because it was grandpa playing tricks with us. They actually thought it was cool.

I think that it may be that "someone" is turning my stereo on and off. If I leave it on the radio settings or leave cds in it, it's as if it turns itself off and on. But if I set it on cds and don't leave any cds in it, it won't turn itself on. Only if its going to be heard will it turn itself on. Other wise, it won't waste the electric. I've actually kept an eye on it to test this theory (with and without cds). But I'm not in the Midwest...

I'm not certain if you would really want to go on a tour of this or not, but there is a small town...Earling, Iowa, not far from Denison, I believe...where, story has it, a young girl was possessed of evil entities and was exorcised in the convent there. The convent still stands...I think this happened in the early part of the last century.

Anyway, that is the only real haunting I know of around the midwest. If I should hear of anything else, I'll inform you, okay? Good Luck!!!
