Boo who?: The way Kyle's luck has been recently, some fans of the No. 88 are almost feeling sorry for him. Yeah, right.

COMMENT

I doubt if JR Fans will ever feel sorry for Kyle. After he accidentally got ino Jr at Martinsville or Bristol (ok so I forgot which track it was)it might have been Richmond (or was that where Mikey and Casey Mears got into a tangle?). Anyhow if there is a hit list that the JR fan are making, Kyle is at the top.
Why be a hater Britt? Clearly Kyle has been the best driver this year and deserves the championship. If it wasn't for the chase he would have had the championship wrapped up. I think people should feel bad for him and the bad luck he has been having. At least he races hard every race.
Here here, I agree with you Gumby. You should drive out to Hastings nesx season and check out the racing at Kam Raceway. LAst season the JRI Class ( Children Carts) ran their feature hard, good racing and no crashes. 600 Sprints really raced hard. JrII had two sisters, they would spin each other out simply because both cars were about the same and they would just be in each others way. Katie still finished first in points. Great racing all season. Some of the photos are in my Scrapbook on my profile.

Gumby, please do not attempt to interpret what my feelings are. If you look at the original posting in the proper context, I believe you will find it somewhat humorous which was my intent. Hate is a word that I try very hard to keep out of my vocabulary. Even though I dislike Tony Stewart I in no way harbor any hatred toward him and I was happy to see him overcome his 43 race winless streak. I totally agree with you, Kyle is an excellent driver and unfortunately, he has had a terrible run of bad luck, but luck, be it good or bad, plays an extremely large role in motorsports, just ask Cousin Carl. Even though most of his has been his own doing, the majority of Kyle’s has found him being a victim of circumstances.
Ok so what is so bad about Smoke? Sure he is rough around the edges, but thats his charm I think. Its guys like Tony that makes the show, so to speak.

I am not saying there is anything that bad about Tony. In fact, he was always one of my favorite drivers since he came up to cup in ‘98. True, he does bring a lot to the sport. I always admired the fact that he did not play NASCAR’s politics and said what he felt. It is just that I lost respect for him somewhat with his lack of loyalty to Joe Gibbs racing. I understand his desire to start his own team but he could have done that and still have honored his contract obligations to JGR. With the multi-million dollar salary he was receiving plus endorsements it not as though he was hurting for money. I am sure it is not the case but one almost gets the feeling that he forgot who aided in making him a two-time champion and contributed to him becoming known as Smoke.
People don't understand Tony's loyalty to Chevy, the manufacturer that made him Smoke. He wasn't happy with JGR Changing to Toyota. I wasnt either. Chevy Made JGR the power house they are in the sport. So with the ownership deal and the chance to go back to Chevy I feel that Tony made the right choice. Now we can all see the kind of driver he is. We can see him struggle with low points and not a championship quality team. The next couple of seasons are going to be good.
