Hamlin to spend night in hospital following hard wreck at Talladega

Denny Hamlin was held Sunday night at a Birmingham hospital Sunday for further evaluation after a tire failure led to a hard crash at Talladega Superspeedway. Even though Tony Stewart won the race, bad luck still seems to be haunting the Joe Gibbs Racing teams. Thankfully, it does not appear that Denny’s injury is too severe.

I never heard why they kept him. Was it a concussion? Sounds like it. I've had enough in my day.

It was reported that he was alert and awake when he was transported to the UAB Medical Center on Sunday, but was complaining of a headache and possibly had a concussion. He was also favoring his right foot after a slow exit from his crumpled car. I understand that he was released from the hospital yesterday (Monday).

All that was said on this week in NASCAR is that he was released from the hospitial yesterday and is fine.
