Had babies later on

I have 5 children......3 that I had in my late teens and early twenties. Then I had a tubal reversal done 14 years after my youngest son was born. At 37 I had a beautiful baby girl who is now 7 and at 40 I had another beautiful baby girl who is now 5. I would love to have another baby even though I am soon to be 45, but you need a willing partner for that and that is what I do not have. I adore children, they keep me young, and I would love another son in order to have 3 daughters and 3 sons :)

Hi Lori,

I "kinda" fit this category. I had my youngest son when I was 36 almost 37yo. He's now 5 1/2yo and I'm 42yo, but most moms in his preK were in their 20's, some looked in their 30's, but I'm sure I was the oldest. I never felt left out from age, mostly language, the UN could have held their sessions there, LOL.

But I am with you, I do feel younger having the young one around. I've even chatted up with younger moms at the park who were shocked who would talk about things like I knew what the heck they were talking about(something much younger women would relate to). And on the flipside one time I was at the grocery store with my 5yo in the shopping cart and the checkout lady and the woman behind started talking about how they were menopausing and revealed they were both my age. I didn't have the guts to tall them I haven't started yet, and maybe it's cuz of having him much older. LOL.

BTW, I was 29 and 31 when I had my older 2 daughters. H always said if we try for a boy, we'll get another girl, so I guess thank gawd he was an oopsy. LOL.

I had my daughter at 38 (I'm now 44 and she's 5 1/2).

I ditto Suzanne's saying that she was the oldest at her son's PreK. I thought I was the oldest mother at my daughter's school until I got to be friends with one of the K teachers (she had her son at 42 and he's now 3).

About the menopause issue - I think Suzanne may be right, or close anyway about why we haven't reached that plateau, just yet. Having a baby later in life may shake things up a bit, who knows?

I had my first two at 20 and 22 and they are grown and have kids of their own (well my 20 y/o does anyway). And I have three step-children who are also grown and my oldest step-daughter is having her first baby at the end of August. The other two (boys) are not married, but my 21 y/o is in a long term relationship with a girl my DH and both adore and we know they'll get married some day. Heck, they're already wearing wedding rings (well, Becki has her engagement ring), and DH quizzed soon to be DIL when was Dan going to pop the question? She got all excited, of course, and Dan called back to say when he was ready, he'd let us know. They're close...we know these things!

Anyway, I'm going to college online starting the 7th and I'm excited to become a teacher. I hope to hear from you ladies soon!
