I just saw Lars and the Real Girl. I had heard a review of it on the radio and frankly it sounded kind of yucky. Who wants to see a movie about a sad little lonely man who buys himself a sex doll? Well, YOU do!! It is a really sweet little film that makes subtle comments about our culture, our expectations and what is important to us. I really don't want to say a lot about it, because part of its charm is that it tends to go in unexpected directions, but there is nothing gross or disturbing about the film and Gosling does a fantastic job of playing the title character!
Anyone else seen it or something else that is independent and sweet?
