I made a baby quilt for my niece and a couple others for other babies. I am now trying to make a full size it will be a first for me. It will be a forest animal theme. I have teenage boys. I don't have much time though. But is interesting.

Are you taking pictures of the quilts you do?? Sewing labels in on the backs of them, with your name, and who you are giving it to, and the year (or date?)?? I hope so!!

Is the new project for you or one of your boys? What block pattern, fabrics are you using?

I've finished a quilt for my younger daughter (she lives overseas) and am working on finishing the one for my older girl (the blue one). My son mentioned when I was starting his...LOL!! I've never made one for myself (or my husband) but that's on the list AFTER my son's. I haven't even started to plan his.

I LOVE making SQUARE baby quilts (I know, the one I show is not). To me, it's easier to wrap up a baby in a square shaped blanket!! Rectangles only really fit on cribs...but not on the ground for crawlers, or to bundle them in.

What do you prefer??

Taking a little break from quilting, & making me some new casual summer type clothes, & using pretty quilting type cottons for all of them. Pants are easy, just elastic waist with side seam pockets. Shirts are loose fitting, camp shirt style. Been shopping some & don't really care for most styles right now, or the prices, so I here I am, making my own clothes again, lol, but that's ok, I know will love them & they will fit, & got the fabrics on sale too! Got 2 pairs done, a third pair just needs elastic & hemming, & I cut out a shirt this morning.......So, what's everyone else working on? Kind of quiet here......

Well, I can't speak (or write) for everyone, but between the quilt I'm working on and keeping the weeds/grass out of the garden, I'm not on the computer much! :p

The clothing sounds great! I remember in the 70's having a friend who made all her own tops using the really cute small florals of the period...I was so jealous that she knew how to sew with a machine (and do it so well!!). I still have an aversion to machine sewing, but have sewn clothing by hand before (really).

Don't forget to save your scraps!! You may be able to use them in a quilt this fall, when the weather is cooler and you want to be working under something nice and warm!!

I like the two quilts you posted pics of Marina! Very pretty! Are you doing anything quilty now, or still too busy in that garden? Sometimes I wish I had a green thumb & loved digging in the dirt, lol. Digging in fabric is my thing, & don't worry, I have always saved my scraps, even before getting into quilting. The economy is getting so bad, I really trying hard to not buy more fabric, just work from my large stash. The local guild quilt show is coming soon, & still debating whether to even go this month, but it's right after our anniversary, so that may be my ann. present, which is fine with me, & I will just watch my spending!

What's everyone else working on, quilty or otherwise? I have a top cut out, but haven't made it up yet. Also did a quilt block for this once a month quilt thing I am in at the LQS here, so that was fun!...

Thanks Happy Mrs....yes, I'm still working on the Auxiliary quilt (see other post asking for help) and for now that is enough. I HAVE to have it well underway for the raffle in Oct. to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness at our local hospital.

I also love photography, and for the first time, am entering the Ozark Empire Fair for 10 different categories of pictures. Not one of them is a quilt. LOL. :p I'll turn those in on Saturday, and then will be back to quilting.

Hahahaa....the gardening is NEVER finished! My grass is higher than some of my flowers right now, and I got BURNED on the top of my head while working out there today (I did put sunscreen on, but failed to put on a hat!). Between the garden and the pool, it got too much sun. I've learned my lesson....

Good idea to work from stash...I try to do the same, but never got into heavy duty hoarding of fabrics, so all my stash is a variety of left-overs from other quilt projects! Sometimes that works just fine!! :)

I'm a fairly new quilter, made some place mats in November, started a baby quilt (finished in March). Now I'm working on two: World Without End and a Log Cabin. All of my work is done by hand. As a recently retired middle school teacher, I crave quiet.
