When John McCain says it is time today to take off the Republican hats and put on the American hats, does it sound strange to anyone else? I thought we all wear HUMAN hats, anyway. I have never been into having a fancy wardrobe, and am happy with my human hat, thank you. This fast hat changing due to a hurricane is another nail in my opinion of John McCain. To me the Republican hat is a partisan hat favoring business over the environment; I foresee lots of oil drilling, mountaintop removal for coal, destructive biofuels, and other harmful practices under John McCain.
And as far as Barack Obama, do people think he will do more to help solve global climate change, increase our energy independence, and protect natural resources? I do believe so; he is not quite as strong as I would like in this area, but probably he has measured what the electorate will accept at this time. I can accept his compromises as long as he will be willing to recalibrate after the election and if necessary, take stronger actions. What do you think?
