Whose minding the store? Is ANYBODY in charge around here? Yo, let's change the name to Sylvester Stallone's All Time Greatest Hits--Rocky 1 through 99. That oughta get some action.

In the most unlikely event that Sly Stallone tunes to the net and reads this post,I wish to offer him my sincere and abject apology for poking fun at his "movies by the numbers" career.

I believed then, as I do now, that "Rocky"(sans numbers) was one of THE most original and well written movies in the history of Hollywood. The cast was excellent--the filming magnificent and the theme music a pure stroke of genius. And, for once, the Academy (that amorphus group of IN people who have the power to make--or break a film) stood in the ticket line with the proletarian US'uns and recognized a work of art when they saw it. Bravo to the academy and to Stallone.

Now---I know that money talks and BS walks and that is why I'm walking and Sly is driving (a Rolls) but, at some point, need morphs into greed and every sequel to that original piece of work has detracted from and diminished the importance of "Rocky" so much that I can no longer watch the original wiithout associating it with the potboiling extensions and wrestle mania freakishness of what followed.

Shame on you Stallone for reducing a masterpiece to a bad comic strip.

On second thought AnnieP just leave this post open. The other room seems to be getting a bit crowded with Ida-hoans and I don't want to hang out with that bunch. If they stay there I'll come over here with you. You seem like a nice reasonable, rational person one can talk to without fear of catching rabies or some other such incurable STD. Thanks.
