Interesting point of view.

I read many comments telling me to only consider a candidates qualifications. Does this mean that the only "qualified" presidential candidates in the last 200 years were wealthy Caucasian males?

There was a time when the only qualified doctors or dentists in my area were white males. Now that I have a broader choice I ended up choosing an Asian female doctor in the hopes that my daughter will not only get good health care, but will learn that she can grow up to be a doctor if she wants too.

We need to reward the leaders that arise when they arise.

Amen to that Mr. Wiggles! And no, Steven, I'm sure there were others just as qualified as the wealthy, white males who have become president, especially in the past 100 years or so. It's just that, unfortunately, wealthy white males are the only ones who have been given the chance to run. And, no wmans the one who squeezed the Charmin was Mr. Whipple and I'm not sure what your ho-hum is for. We have to look back to see what's happened so we can correct the mistakes that have been made in the past. And one of those mistakes has been excluding women and minorities from the political process.

Hopefully, this election year is going to be the first step in rectifying at least one of those mistakes and giving someone other than a rich white male a chance to start us down the right path as a country.
