According to our community guide, there is a new feature where people can be emailed as a group by the group owner. I think it would be great to learn of whose birthday it is and be able to wish them a happy birthday - I'd love to be on a list that would notify me of birthdays. Would this group owner be willing to do that, or should a new group be started for people who want to be notified of TBD birthdays?

BTW, today's birthday is Chez Moi's, Tomorrow's is Trucks and 8/22 is Editors.

I'd even like to extend it to other announcements for congratulating people - for instance, my new granddaughter was born yesterday - there are other occassions such as anniversaries, or anything else anyone wants to celebrate. People who want to announce something could post to the group.

Is it a bad idea? Would we be inundated with emails? I don't know - any thoughts?
