I run a local non-profit tv station and make short movies - mostly for fun. Have you ever been involved with any production at all? i know in big cities shoots are happening all the time. Yesterday a group of us wrapped a short production.
The Boulder Asian Film Festival has a screenplay contest each year and the winner gets produced for the upcoming festival. Look for a great short called "Adobo" The guy who wrote the story is a local high school teacher. His son was an accomplished kid who has been in NY and now LA producing satellite tv. He came back to direct the movie.
I'm amazed at all the talent that comes together for guerrilla projects like this - a couple great actors, a photographer with great equipment who happened to be between real jobs and a bunch of volunteer P.A.s and grips.
My first experience with movies that really got me hooked happened just a couple years ago when Jennifer Garner's movie "Catch and Release" was set in Boulder and some establishing shots done hear. I was an extra - Passerby 157. I took it all in and ended up making some money in the business.
What experiences have you had being in the middle of TV and Movies or Stage?
