This past week I saw that Oprah was going to have a show called "Why men cheat." It featured M. Gary Newman, author of "The Truth about Cheating." Intrigued, I set my recorder and went to work. Some of the reasons were that men felt a lack of attention, communication and building up (affirmations of worth and importance) from their wives. And when they receive or perceive this from an outside source, they easily fall into it, so to speak.
Sometimes the issues of the downside of flirting get discussed in this group. For example, getting back attention that you werent really looking for outside of a friendly flirt or having someone misconstrue a flirty gesture for something serious.
I am wondering, have any of the men of this group been in a position that someone's flirting with them filled a void like those discussed on Oprah?
Same question for women, have you found that innocent flirting with a married man was taken the wrong way due to a difficult period in his life?
