Do many of you use simple, daily herbal remedies? I mean basic things like teas made with mints or chamomile to settle the tummy or the nerves. I have been having a stressful time of it lately, and I am finding mint tea to be incredibly soothing and helpful both for my frazzled nerves and my tricky tummy. Even the scent of the tea is soothing to me.
I have also made and used an eyewash for irritated eyes from calendula petals. Or ginger root for digestive upsets. Apple cider vinegar and honey in a cup of hot water to soothe a sore throat.
Now that the nettles are beginning to grow, I will cut them and dry them for a tea, full of iron and other essential nutrients, that also helps with allergy symptoms and nourishes the adrenal system--the part of us that is depleted by stress. Red clover can be used the same way. Many of these plants grow as 'common weeds' right in our yards!
There are lots of these old fashioned remedies that rely on simple common sense, and are not expensive or hard to find.
Also, many of these simple yet reliable helping herbs can be easily grown at home.
What simple remedies do you know of, or use? What questions might you have about them? I have extensive experience both in the growing of these plants and the preparation and use of simple remedies and would be happy to share information and also to learn from your experiences!
