Thanks, Toby, for starting this thread! I didn't know Bailey that well, but his posts were always amusing, provocative, and/or down-right laugh out loud funny. He was kindly and gentlemanly to me whenever our paths crossed, and to me, he was one of the originals of TBD. Bailey - if you're reading this, please come back - by now you must know there are so many of us who miss and appreciate you. I hope all is well with your brother...

I can't explain the connection to Bailey, except that perhaps heart-minded people understand each other. His heart was so compassionate, I think it broke often.

What I do know, is that he had a great sense of humor: After all, he "got me" like no one else! lol. And I guess I "got him", too. I didn't agree with various aspects of his politics, but I forgave him 'cause he was from Texas ;) I even forgave him for giving me my one and only kick-in-the-pants. (pbthbthbth)

I read a number of Bailey's posts, especially in the Mad-As-Hell group. HE CARED about people. He reached out to us, and some of us bit him.

Speaking of biting: A Note to Button-Pushers, too: I know you get off on finding people's weaknesses and then pushing their buttons over and over until they break. I know you. You will get yours. It's called Karma. A4F - this is not directed at you. It is directed at all pseudo-intellectual button-pushers.

I truly don't know why I got all riled up at his exit and why I'm still riled up, except that I don't get riled up for no reason. Crazy, but true.

There's a lesson in this - for all of us - somewhere.

Yes... Strange but this affected me too. Strange because I actually don't know Bailey that well... It happened that I added him as a friend just a day or two before he left. And it was, to me, some serendipity moment. We exchanged a few short messages, and his made me laugh out loud. Somehow, I instantly could sense that the person had a gentle heart of a child -- the open heart, the generous heart. And now it seems like I was correct because such hearts are vulnerable too. What happened I do not know, don't want to make assumptions... Just, folks, let's be gentle to each other! When we set up our TBD accounts and mark the reasons why we are here, we, almost all of us, marked "Just having fun". Well... Let's not spoil our cyber friends' fun. Let's DISCUSS, not fight.
