This is one of the few books I have read repeatedly since high school, each time getting a new meaning.
When I first read it in high school, I thought it was just a good read. In college and officer basic, I learned leadership principles. As a student of politics, I found it dealing with issues of rights v. privilege, community, citizenship, and organization of decision making in society.
I now use the book as a spring board for discussions in my class on 'Politics and Literature.'
Is there anyone else who is a fan of this book?
BTW, the movie adaptation was an abomination.
