Yes, I love the Pern series. I am reading Dragaon Fire by Todd McCraffery. It is really good. A little different but very good.

JK ruined the Potter series for me when she ruined Dumbldore. Not only did she kill him off, after all was said and done she then announced that Dumbledore was a gay character. I saw no point in exposing his sexual orientation as it had no bearing on the story that I could tell. Perhaps that is why she did it: to show that sexual orientation does not make a difference. But I rather think she did it to upset some of the stiff upper lips and generate further exposure for her book series as it wound down, and I think it was a cheap shot. I dunno if I even want to see any more movies, much less add them to my collection of DVDs.
