I really did love Zelazny's Amber series, though the sequel series was not as strong, though still very good. If you liked it, then I'd try some other of his works. He has great short stories too... there's an anthology called 'Last Defender of Camelot' (sadly out of print) that is outstanding.

I like most of CJ Cherry's other series as well... there's the really old ones (Faded Sun), there's the Morgaine series, and also the Pride of Chanur series, among may others, that stand out.

Haven't read Martha Wells yet, will need to give her a try!

I never got into the Pratchett books. But to answer the topic, I really like short stories. I used to read them a lot as a kid and have started to get some more collections of SF short stories. They are great for the bathroom.

I don't care for long series .I enjoyed short stories more when I was younger . These days I prefer a novel with a clear theme , character growth and a conclusion .

I have read all the Discworld novels and I own the Hogfather DVD . The latest Discworld movie is The Colour of Magic it premiered in England on Easter weekend .Terry P is coming to my home town next year for the first North American Discworld Convention .
