I've been a huge fan of the Song of Ice and Fire series for some years now (link goes to an Amazon.com search):
I had never heard of the series until a friend recommended Game of Thrones as vacation reading. I picked it up and was hooked, I devoured what was then the two additional books in the series.
Then, like every other fan of the series, I waited. And waited, and waited some more. Until finally George R.R. Martin came out with the fourth installment.
And now it's been a couple years since that book and he still hasn't finished the fifth one. Even though supposedly it was already partly done when he carved out A Feast For Crows and used the rest as the seed for A Dance with Dragons.
Dance with Dragons, when it does come out, still won't be the end of it. He's probably got one or two more books before he can call it a day on this epic.
I'm just wondering if he's ever going to get this thing finished. I certainly hope so. Because as we all know, Winter is Coming.
