Well, believe it or not, I was just having THIS conversation with my wife 2 days ago. I would really love to have the opportunity to watch the RAMA series, by Arthur Clarke, on the big screen. There´s another one, not so "sci-tech", but also very special: Illusions, by Richard Bach.

The Discworld novels are being turned into movies . The Colour of Magic and Hogfsther done , Going Postal next .The Neuromancer trilogy is the grandfather of the Matrix. It looks like my favorites are already getting the multimedia treatment. Heck a Billy Chaka script even got commissioned .

Translating a story into a new medium is so dicey and a collaborative art form like TV or film has so many ways to go wrong . I try not to get too excited about a new Marvel movie or SF channel miniseries.

Qualifiers stated ,Elric of Melnoboane and Elfquest are two stories that could work well on screen .

Ooooh... Elric is really what I want to see. Talk about potential. Other Moorcock could work too, like the Eternal Champion.

I head Game of Thrones will be an HBO series.

Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser (Lankhmar series) could be done really well too, I think.

There are plans to turn RAMA into a feature film. it would be produced by Morgan Freeman.

Wolfgang Peterson, though? Heh...

EG has been in "development hell" for almost a decade at this point! I'm not even sure if Warner Brothers has retained the rights, or if Peterson is still assigned. I do know that OSC (now that the writer's strike is over) is revising the script--again.

And I've read the script for "Stars My Destination." It was HORRIBLE! All I can say is I'm glad that particular script was never shot.
