Here-here, I second that with praying for those who desire to have a mate. But wait on God if you're serious about the right mate. Pray and tell God your desires about what you need in a good mate. Trust me it happened for me.

Well, ive just gotten a divorce. My thing is... If that man isn't right for me, God will reveal him to me, and as for competition? It's up to that man. If that man want's both than i'm gone. I don't waste my time fighting over a man, i'd rather be alone than deal with the drama. All i have to do, is ask, and i shall receive.

Why do we compete against each other for a black man? Is it because were afraid of dating out of our race? Or being accepted by any man?

I'll have to disagree with you all on this one. There is no more or no less competition out there than there was in the past. The only problem I see is "we" have far too many men and women who have divided our community as a whole to make a buck.

There is just too much junk out there which has replaced the sure-footed, non wavering, and inspirational advice which were once given by our "Big Mamas" and "Papas", but instead has told us to basically doubt our inner voices and rational consciousness.

BuddyLoveTNT, in the past, many Black males were murdered by mobs for even looking at White females. As a result, in my observation, many White, Hispanic, and Asian females have been, and are pursued by Black men as "trophies." Of course, there are some for-real, bonified love-connections, which resulted; and those are fine with me. I guess you have to walk in a Black woman's shoes, in order to be sensitive to Black men with tunnel-vision, preferring any women--other than Black women. The scales aren't balanced: There aren't enough White, Hispanic, and Asian men, who prefer Black women!!!

A man's or women's self worth should never be based on the quantity, but the quality of those of the opposite they attract. This goes back to my first statement about people who have made a quick dollar at our expense.

It was no other than the N.A.A.C.P. who deluded the minds of our brothers and sister by stating that there are more black men in prison than in college. The many novels, magazines, movies, plays and many other forms of media and entertainment which has done nothing more than cemented the notion that a "good black man" is hard to find.

Let those who want to date or marry outside of their race be with who they may want or need. Selecting a person to date and or marry is more like interviewing candidates for a job position; it's not about how many people are interested in filling the position, but trying to determine if those who are being interviewed are the right ones for the position.

Personal Note:

Black Women be advised; for all the praying and waiting for God to deliver a man is going to do nothing more than leave you sitting on the sidelines hating on others. There are plenty of good single black men (if that is your preference) out in your cities, but you all must put yourself out there. Yes, that will mean saying “hello” to a man and taking the risk of that introduction ending just being that, an introduction and nothing more. It is not the end of the world if that happens. (if it was, all of men would be dead and gone by now) You can’t have it both ways…….Being the “Independent Black Women” of the new era, and wanting the good old fashion “you men need to approach me if you want me” stance.
