People had a relationship with God before the Bible was originally written so I am saying yes.

Yes! You can have an encounter with God without the bible. Paul met him on the way to the road of Damascus and it changed his life and he became one of the Gods greatests Apostles. However, his encounter changed his life in such a way that he wrote the majority of the new testement. I dont believe God inspired him to write it for nothing. In ancient times Adam had a relationship so intimate and open with God Genesis says, Adam walked in the cool of evening and talked with God in Garden but that was he sinned.

Later God talked with the people through his prophets and now thanks to them, we have the bible! I believe we can see glimpeses of God in other works, but the bible is only true Guideline on how to have a relationship with HIM. John 15:7 says, If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. If if were really possible that we could have a relationship with God through other works, then what would we need the bible for?

Yes, God in us. I trust the Lord with all my heart; and lean not to my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge Him, and He directs my paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Many people err because they believe they can figure everything out; and when they can't, they conclude that it's not real. There is so much that I don't know and understand, and that's OK; because one day I surrendered in my mess, and asked God to help me read the Holy Bible, and understand what He wants me to know. From that day on, the Holy scriptures no longer seemed like a foreign language to me. I could read the Word, meditate, and understand, more than ever before. Believers need to interact in worship with other believers, rather than study in isolation. We grow and learn from others, and they from us. Then we can really see the hand of God at work in our lives. We are all spirit beings housed inside body shells. The Holy Spirit in born-again believers leads, teaches, comforts, and helps us; for which I am thankful.

Yes you can have a relationship with GOD without the Bible. I remember when I was a little girl I started talking to our Heavenly Father and I had never read the Bible. But when I got older I started reading the Bible and I grew closer to GOD and the more I read it the more closer I feel him. When I fast I feel even closer. And, I just love walking and talking with him all during the day. I could be talking to him about something or how I am feeling that day and when I read my Bible it's like he is talking straight to me. My answers are in the scriptures. Depends on what you mean by "have a relationship with God".

Everyone has a relationship with God--even atheists--some more conscious of and attentive to their relationship than others. And everyone defines their relationship with God differently including Christians, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, Jainists, Mormons, and Hindus as well as those who practice Yoruba, Condomble, Santeria, and various forms of shamanism and indigenous religions.

Besides, all of the characters in the bible had relationships with God without a bible. Jesus never had a bible. (Actually, because he was Jewish, he had the Torah and other Hebrew teachings.)

Perhaps you're asking a different question. Can one really be a true Christian without knowing the bible and all of it's teachings?
