In the foster care system, when a kid reaches eighteen, he or she "ages out" and doesn't receive anymore services. In the workforce, the age at which we all "age out," differs, but there's always a time when you know you didn't get the promotion or the job because you were perceived as too old, too expensive, or "overqualified."
This is a perfect time to take a leap of faith and start your own business. I talk to entrepreneurs all day long in my "day job" and they are always engaged and stimulated -- although they are not always successful.
