Today, I made a decision to change my party affiliation and of course it will not be heard nor felt my anyone. That said, here is my little rant sent to the GOP...
Dear GOP,
I never thought I’d ever write these words, but here we are….
My very first vote 1976 was a write-in vote for Ronald Reagan. I am registered Republican and have consistently voted Republican all my life. I ran for U.S. Congress (Cal. 50th in April of 2004) as a Republican. I have donated to GOP candidates including Brian Bilbray, Mitt Romney and other local officials.
While I do not intend on voting for Senator Obama, I have mixed feelings about voting for Senator McCain.
Today, I made up my mind…to re-register as an independent and I will not be voting for Sen. Obama nor Sen. McCain this year.
Moreover, I have decided to work hard to unseat ALL INCUMBENTS!!!.

...detailing the GOP Senate blocking removal of the tax breaks afforded Big Oil was the final straw in a long line of disappointments. We need a Manhattan Project to rid ourselves of dependence on foreign oil and stop this bleeding of US dollars to foreign nations. We have to stop apologizing for Big Oils inability or lack of inclination to pursue alternatives despite the tax breaks we have afforded them.
More over, I have dedicated myself to bringing my small voice and talent to bear to shine a light on the sellout of America done with the tacit approval of this government.

You need to find another Teddy Roosevelt and stop supporting the ruination of a once fine party.
As Reagan said in the 80’s…I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me. For me it is the reverse, but the Democrats are not a viable option.
With Regret,
Bill Boyer
